Open Day 2025

We have held Open Days at Pyestock for some years and we are happy to do so again. We pride ourselves on being a very friendly club and are always happy to welcome new members of all ages, both ladies and gentlemen.

 

This year our Open Day will be on the 4th May and will be shared by the Archery Club and Crondall Pétanque Club. 

If you would like to come and see us, the ground will be open from 10.30am until 4.00pm. There is ample car parking - far more than at any other local bowls club! - and, if you’re not sure where we are, the postcode for your Sat Nav is GU14 0FE or use what three words ///peach.needed.regulator. It is situated off the old Ively Road, which used to lead to Farnborough in bygone days, but is now a cul-de-sac.  

 

When you arrive, you will be greeted by club members, who will show you around, chat about the game of bowls and invite you to try your hand. We will provide the gear; all you need on the day is to be wearing a pair of flat shoes. 

 

It is one of the few sports where both sexes can compete on an equal footing, as it’s not about physical strength. Although it can be very competitive, we always do our utmost to ensure that, first and foremost, it is enjoyable. Our green is situated in a semi-rural spot and all you can see above the hedge are trees; it’s very peaceful, apart from the occasional aircraft taking off from the nearby airfield, but that just adds a little interest!
